Just a reminder to everyone that we will have our October LUG meeting  at 6:30pm on Thursday, October 11th. Currently, the agenda is as follows:

  • SQLite – As we heard last month Gary Melvin  has been busy interfacing  his Arduinos to  all kinds of temperature sensors such as the LM34. This month he is going to show us how to us use the small database SQLite to store hose test data.
  • Raspberry Pi – Sam Williams will be discussing the Raspberry Pi and Linux. He will discuss several Raspberry Pi projects such as RaspBMC and Raspbian.

Hope you all can come out and catch up.

We had a really good meeting. We had 9 people in attendance and had some really informative demonstrations and discussions:

  • Arduino Based/Thermometer – Gary Melvin  gave a great presentation and demo of his  Arduino/LM34 web thermometer project.  There was a lot of interest and plenty of questions.
  • Polyglot vs Monolingual Programmers – Calvin Schultz gave a great discussion on polyglot vs monolingual programmers . Ever wonder what its like to have more then one programming tool in your toolkit, wonder no further because Calvin gave a great discussion. The discussion was  eye-opening for those considering enhancing their  programming skills in the world of F/OSS.

It was a fun and informative meeting. We all had a great time. Thanks Gary and Peter for your help and demonstrations!
