The February RRLug meeting had average attendance numbers of 12. We met at the usual time of 6:30pm in the Rasmussen College Boardroom. We had a few new faces in the crowd tonight. As usual we had several different presentations on the agenda.
- Performance Tools – We looked at two additional performances tools this month. First we examined the dstat command and the types of information it provides. We also took a look at a relative newcomer called glances which is similar to several of the “tops”, but has its own spin on performance stats gathering.
- Security Updates – the main presentation was centered around a relatively new tool called sshuttle. We demonstrated getting the most recent version from GitHub, then using it as a core piece of security for when you are away from the safety of your home or work and need to secure all communication.
- Linux News – several Linux news items were discussed from the last month, particularly the systemd discussion from the Debian Technical committee.
Hope to see you all there!
