Just a reminder to everyone that we will have our September  LUG meeting  at 6:30pm on Thursday, September 11th. Directions: When you arrive at Rasmussen College take the elevator to the third floor then turn left.  Tonight we are moving to Classroom 302   to take advantage of the whiteboard!

  • Python Development – Calvin Schultz is going to discuss and hopefully demo a new automation framework he has been developing in Python. He will discuss many  of the issues that you need to keep in mind when developing complex projects in the language.
  • Linux BotNet Discussion –  Joe Granneman of Illumination.io, our resident security expert, is going to give a discussion on the most recent Linux Botnet, its impact, attack vectors, and ways of protecting your Apache/Tomcat servers from its damaging effects.
  • Open Source Security Opportunities – Joe Granneman is also going to discuss his new security company, Illumination.io, and their needs for security talent with a focus on  Linux/FOSS. They are seriously looking for individuals interested in doing security consulting, penetration testing, forensic analysis, and compliance.
  • Linux News – Discuss the general Linux news items from the past month.

Hope to see you all there!
