  • Version Control Basics – Sam Williams will begin a multi-part series of presentations on version control tools, practices, and methods. Tonight he will start us off with a basic discussion of the fundamental concepts.

Hope you all can come out and catch up.

Dec 102012

Just a reminder to everyone that we will have our December LUG meeting  at 6:30pm on Thursday, December 13th at Rasmussen College (room 403 / fourth floor).  Currently, the agenda is as follows:

  • USB Thumbdrives  – Sam Williams is going to discussion using USB drives with Linux and dealing with a couple of common issues that most people should be aware of when using them.
  • Enlightenment / Raspberry Pi – We all strive for enlightenment, particularly after  our last major  political season, but Sam Williams wants to bring enlightening news of  a different sort. It seems that a very long running development cycle for the Enlightenment Window Manager (E17)  is coming to a close and release is at hand. Here comes some historic perspective and an exposure to some awesome technology. Sam will demonstrate the low resource, but full powered desktop on a Raspberry Pi. The RPi of course  has limited cpu and ram resources and is a perfect platform for showing the minimal requirments for E17. By the end of the meeting you will get an idea why if we aren’t obliterated on 12/21/12 you might want to give this environment a look!
Hope you all can come out and catch up.
