The May  RRLug meeting went really well. We had 14 people attending and we met at the usual time of  6:30pm in the Rasmussen College Boardroom. There were a few new faces in the crowd tonight. One even graciously brought his new BeagleBone Black to the meeting to pass around. I have a feeling we will be seeing some presentations created around this new platform soon.
We had several different presentations tonight:

  • Python Training – Peter Hedlund began  a series of Python lectures. He is facilitating the groups progression through the training materials. Members were  encouraged to participate along with the lecture during the course of the meeting. Peter is planning on continuing this work through the next few months.
  • Performance Tools – Sam Williams discussed  htop and demonstrated how it was much more then just a drop-in replacement for top. He discussed custom configuring and tailoring of the tool to provide the greatest usage and utility. Many of the members were surprised to see all the things you could do with it.
  • Current News – Sam Williams led the  discussion on some of the more interesting news items from the past month.

We all had a great time. Hope to see you all next month for the June meeting on: 06/13/13.
